Classroom Champions

We’re excited to sponsor classrooms in Weyburn, Shaunavon, Provost, Calgary and Denver for Classroom Champions, an organization that pairs world-class athletes with high-needs and rural classrooms. Through video blogs, live web chats and more, students connect with their athletes and learn about everything from setting goals to the importance of hard work and perseverance.

During the 2015-2016 school year, Crescent Point sponsored 20 classrooms reaching 477 students with the program.

Post-secondary development

In addition to supporting elementary and high school classrooms through Classroom Champions, Crescent Point partners with universities and colleges to improve the educational experience and hands-on learning of post-secondary students.

In 2015, Crescent Point Energy donated $100,000 to the University of Regina for upgrades to their petroleum engineering laboratory equipment. Investing in improving the learning experience offered by post-secondary institutions increases the quality of education these schools provide and positively impacts student development upon their entry into the workforce.

Scholarships and Bursaries

We’ve set up several bursaries, endowments and scholarships at Post-Secondary institutions in and around our operating areas. The award parameters vary at each institution and apply to various programs.

One of our most notable ongoing scholarship areas is the Seventh Generation Fund Scholarship which is administered by the Ute Tribe Education Department in Utah.  This scholarship is available to Ute Tribal members and descendants and can be used at any university in the United States.  Scholarship recipients are deemed to excel in academics and are looking to continue their post-secondary education.
