Job Title:  Senior Human Resources Representative
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Reports to:  Team Lead, People Relations

The following will provide you with basic guidelines as to the duties required of this position.

Purpose:

The Senior HR Representative will be responsible for a variety of human resources activities including: performance management, disability management, training and development, immigration matters, benefits and policy interpretation for the business. The successful candidate will have a focus on offering high quality service and being a trusted partner to the business. This position deals with highly confidential material and therefore requires an individual who can deal with this in the utmost professional manner.

Main Responsibilities & Activities:

  • Support managers and supervisors by coaching, communicating and advising in the performance management process including providing progressive discipline options
  • Support employee group by responding to inquiries regarding policies, benefits, training, etc.
  • Manage employee change events as it relates to workforce planning (transfers, promotions, leaves, terminations, etc.)
  • Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining corporate policies and procedures to reflect company culture while ensuring corporate governance
  • Lead acquisition requirements within department and between various stakeholders
  • Conduct corporate orientations for new employees
  • Act as liaison for disability management between third party disability nurse, employee and manager
  • Coordinate immigration requirements including communication with management, organizing NAFTA Visa requirements, counseling and maintenance of records
  • Research various HR topics and industry trends as required
  • Travel to local field offices as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources is required; CHRP designation is required
  • Minimum 7 years of Generalist experience in Human Resources is required
  • Oil and gas industry experience is considered an asset
  • US immigration experience is considered an asset
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment is required
  • Working knowledge with HRIS would be an asset
  • Enthusiastic individual with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Must be analytical, strategic and thoughtful with an ability to make recommendations and influence outcomes
  • Must demonstrate ability to build strong partnerships with all levels of employees and business relationships through intuitive business insight and personal credibility
  • Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals
