Crescent Point is currently seeking to fill the following position:

Job Title:  Supply Chain Management Specialist
Location:  Roosevelt, Utah
Reports to:  Senior Production Foreman

The following will provide you with basic guidelines as to the duties required of this position.


The Supply Chain Management Specialist is responsible for managing key commercial matters and contractual activities that support Crescent Point’s field operations. This position deals with highly confidential material and therefore requires an individual who can deal with this in the utmost professional manner.

Main Responsibilities & Activities:

  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure lowest total cost and best value for goods and services is achieved through: negotiations, supplier relationship management, inventory and surplus equipment management
  • Support field operations by determining the sourcing strategy and justification ensuring compliance with procurement policy
  • Manage the sourcing processes for RFQ’s and RFP’s
  • Gather the appropriate information from operations to prepare RFQ packages
  • Collaborate the evaluation criteria with internal stakeholders and manage all communication
  • Issue the RFQ’s and RFP’s
  • Conduct proposal evaluation and recommendation
  • Maintain inventory and surplus lists, costs, and management of inventory purchased capital equipment for redeployment
  • Monitor and analyze trends in company spending and inventory control
  • Provide recommendations where improvements and total cost reductions are possible
  • Optimize savings and value with procurement and materials management initiatives while satisfying operational and internal stakeholder requirements
  • Recommend initiatives for increasing cost savings and negotiating favorable commercial terms
  • Identify opportunities to leverage region related expenditures
  • Implement service, supply, and pricing agreements with key suppliers where beneficial
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers who can potentially provide goods and services at the lowest total cost/best value
  • Assist in the implementation of a purchasing management system for the company in relation with other departments
  • Keep up with market trends and conditions (pricing, availability, lead-times, capacity, etc.) for goods services
  • Implement actions to best ensure that an uninterrupted continuity of supplies and services are maintained to support operations
  • Conduct routine supplier negotiations
  • Assist in the prequalification of vendors to work on the reservation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Degree or diploma in either business management, engineering, construction management, supply chain management, business law or equivalent experience is required
  • 10 years of oil and gas industry related experience is required
  • Experience in various supply management and supply industries roles in support of oil field operations is required
  • Ability to establish goals and objectives with established timeframes for the successful execution of contract plan with limited supervision
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are required
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel
  • Must be well organized and able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and influencing skills are required
  • Knowledge of contract law and its application in the purchasing process is an asset
  • Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals
