Job Title: Completions Engineer / Engineering Technologist
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Reports to: Team Lead, Completions Engineering

The following will provide you with basic guidelines as to the duties required of this position.

Purpose:

The Completions Engineer/Engineering Technologist will primarily be responsible for designing and
executing completions and workovers that contribute to the high growth profile of Crescent Point Energy.
This position will entail working on oil and gas wells including: new completions / workovers on vertical,
deviated and horizontal wells that often have technical challenges. The completion and workover process
will include design, execution and evaluation.

Main Responsibilities & Activities:

  • Design and coordinate completion programs from AFE preparation to completion of field
    operations. This will require the candidate to: generate the cost estimate, raise the AFE,
    coordinate services, take daily calls and code or approve invoices
  • Interact extensively with surface land department, geologists, exploitation engineers and service
    companies to generate the completion programs
  • Manage the company’s completion, recompletion and well maintenance operations in a safe,
    professional and cost effective manner, ensuring complete adherence to safety, regulatory
    compliance, cost control and competitive bid procedures
  • Coordinate the utilization of internal resources as well as external consulting staff required to
    achieve ongoing completion, workover and well servicing operations
  • Provide completions engineering support to the development teams for all exploration,
    exploitation and development activities
  • Provide ongoing technical support and assist with the development of completion practices that
    will fully utilize available new technology
  • Support the Drilling & Completions Manager in any other related activities, as requested

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or nationally accredited 2 year Engineering Technology diploma
    is required
  • 3 to 5 years of completion experience with preference given to multi-frac completion operations
  • Experience in frac design and supervision of frac operations would be an asset
  • Wellsite supervision experience of service rigs, coil tubing units, fracturing and wireline or slickline
    units, would be an asset
  • Horizontal well completions experience would be an asset
  • Ability to work collaboratively with both field and office staff is required
  • A results driven person with the tenacity and determination to make quick and tough decisions
  • Ability to work under pressure within tight time frames is required
  • Solid understanding of government rules and regulations pertaining to service rig operations is
    required
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in: Microsoft Office applications, Accumap, AFE
  • Navigator and Wellview
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
