Job Title:  Environmental Project Coordinator

Reports to: Supervisor, Health Safety & Environment 

The following will provide you with basic guidelines as to the duties required of this position.

Purpose:

The Environmental Project Coordinator is responsible for directing and controlling all remediation activities in Crescent Point’s SE Saskatchewan and Manitoba field areas. This role interfaces very closely with Crescent Point’s Field Operations and Corporate Teams to ensure oil and gas production is carried out in an efficient and cost effective manner, incorporating Health Safety and Environmental business stewardship. This position is vital to the success of managing environmental projects within the company. The candidates should reside in Southeast Saskatchewan area due to the location of the role.

Main Responsibilities & Activities:

  • Manage environmental projects and ensure CPG’s protocols are being followed at all locations
  • Control and coordinate activities related to CPG’s abandonment program
  • Manage remediation and abandonment budgets
  • Obtain and manage qualified consultants that meet CPG Operating Standards
  • Review technical reports for timely submission to regulators and internal stakeholders
  • Provide direct response and technical support to CPG’s Production Foremen regarding spills
  • Train Foremen on spill response and remedial options with respect to spills
  • Work collaboratively with CPG Operations team in dealing with landowners and regulators
  • Generate AFEs for environmental projects and review third party AFEs
  • Provide cost control and invoice review/approval for environmental projects including monthly operational expense accruals
  • Execute environmental due diligence when coordinating consultants during acquisition/divestiture activities
  • Provide support to CPG’s Operations as new assets are incorporated

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Degree in Environmental Sciences or Engineering is required
  • 5 to 8 years of HSE experience is required
  • Oil and gas operations experience would be an asset
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and governing bodies is required
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in: Microsoft Office applications, Siteview, Accumap, Ultimus and AFE Navigator
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • Strong business/client focus with drive on bringing client needs and projects to closure in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and obtain consensus
  • A self-starter with strong project and time management skills
  • Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals
  • Sufficient business acumen to recommend sound business decisions and cost effective solutions
  • Flexible to travel to various field areas
