Job Title:  Reservoir Engineer
Location: Calgary, AB
Reports to:  Team Lead, Engineering

The following will provide you with basic guidelines as to the duties required of this position.

Purpose:

The Reservoir Engineer at Crescent Point will be responsible for assisting the management of the company’s large oil properties and several waterfloods in Alberta and Saskatchewan. The reservoirs are both clastics and carbonates. In addition, the Reservoir Engineer will assist with the design and implementation of new waterflood schemes where applicable and will be expected to have the knowledge and ability to work with comprehensive oilfield management software.

Main Responsibilities & Activities:

  • Handle reservoir engineering of a wide range of projects relating to specific oil and gas properties assigned
  • Perform various duties including: monitoring voidage replacement, recommending injection volumes, and optimizing the waterflood patterns
  • Identify value adding opportunities such as reactivations, recompletions, development drilling locations and down spacing
  • Coordinate and analyze reservoir pressure data and pressure transient analysis
  • Organize and analyze technical studies, such as advanced core analysis and reservoir simulations
  • Create short term and long term development strategies
  • Work closely with the area exploitation Engineers, Geologists and field staff
  • Assist with resource applications to the respective provincial regulators
  • Present projects to the executive, management team, board of directors and bank syndicate
  • Play a key role in the evaluation of potential acquisitions, ranging from property to corporate evaluations
  • Assist in the corporate reserve process with our independent engineering consultants

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • University Degree in Engineering is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of oil and gas industry engineering experience is required
  • E.I.T. or P. Eng designation with APEGA membership is required
  • Past experience with oil field and water flood development, reserve evaluations and acquisition evaluations would be an asset
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in: well & reservoir analysis and petroleum economics,
  • Microsoft Office applications, Accumap and FieldView
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skill
