Crescent Point is currently seeking to fill the following position:

Job Title:  Regulatory Compliance Technician
Location:  Calgary, Alberta
Reports to:  Regulatory Compliance Coordinator

The following will provide you with basic guidelines as to the duties required of this position.


The Regulatory Compliance Technician is primarily responsible for assuring compliance with all pertinent regulations, monitoring and tracking Crescent Point’s regulatory compliance and providing overall support to the Operations and Engineering groups in regulatory matters.

Main Responsibilities & Activities:

  •  Maintain a thorough understanding of all regulations within the jurisdictions Crescent Point
    operates in. This includes: researching regulations and updating departments on changing
  • Provide support and guidance to Operations and Engineering Groups with respect to regulatory
  • Complete submissions of required data and applications to the appropriate regulatory bodies as
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of regulatory processes and procedures
  • Responsible for documenting and tracking corrective actions and follow up of any noncompliance
    events and regulatory information
  • Provide updates to management on the status of compliance issues and resolutions
  • Provide day-to-day administration and submission duties associated with regulatory compliance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Relevant post secondary education is required
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of technical/regulatory experience in the oil and gas industry is required
  • Must possess a strong understanding of the regulatory requirements of oil and gas operations
    with a working knowledge of AB and SK regulations
  • Must be able to learn and interpret new and previously unseen regulations
  • A self-starter that demonstrates initiative and is capable of working independently and in a team
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be flexible to travel to various field sites
  • Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals
