Crescent Point is currently seeking to fill the following position:

Job Title:  Human Resources Generalist - Intermediate
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Reports to:  Team Lead, People Relations

The following will provide you with basic guidelines as to the duties required of this position.


The HR Generalist will be responsible for all human resources activities including: performance
management, disability management, training and development, immigration matters, benefits and policy interpretation for the business. The successful candidate will have a focus on offering high quality service and being a trusted partner to the business. This position deals with highly confidential material and therefore requires an individual who can deal with this in the utmost professional manner.

Main Responsibilities & Activities:

  • Support managers and supervisors by coaching, communicating and providing advice in the
    performance management process including providing progressive discipline options
  • Support employee group by responding to inquiries regarding policies, benefits, training, etc.
  • Manage employee change events as it relates to workforce planning (transfers, promotions,
    leaves, terminations, etc.)
  • Conduct corporate orientations for new employees
  • Act as liaison for disability management between third party disability nurse, employee and
  • Manage immigration requirements including communication with management, organizing
    NAFTA Visa requirements, counseling and maintenance of records
  • Assist with planning and organizing executive and management retreats
  • Research various HR topics and industry trends as required
  • Travel to local field offices as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources is required; CHRP designation considered an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of Generalist experience in Human Resources is required
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment is required
  • Working knowledge with HRIS would be an asset
  • Enthusiastic individual with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Must be analytical, strategic and thoughtful with an ability to make recommendations and
    influence outcomes
  • Must demonstrate ability to build strong partnerships with all levels of employees and business
    relationships through intuitive business insight and personal credibility
  • Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals
