Core Operating Areas

The Battrum property is a medium gravity crude oil pool with 350 mmbbls of original oil in place. Crescent Point is the operator of the property and holds an average 45 percent working interest across the three units. The Trust’s share of production from the property is currently approximately 2,100 boe/d.

Battrum commenced production in 1955 and has recovered about 26 percent of original oil in place to date. In 2007, the Trust drilled 8 (3.6 net) wells at Battrum with a 100 percent success rate and added over 180 boe/d of interest production. In addition the Trust reactivated 3 gross (1.25 net) shut-in wells and work continues on optimizing the water flood. Since acquiring the property in 2006, the Trust has added over 8.3 mmboe of proved plus probable reserves to a total of 13.9 mmboe at year end 2007.

Crescent Point believes that through further infill drilling and waterflood optimization, the recovery factor could be increased to 45 percent over the coming years, adding an incremental net 16.3 mmboe of proved plus probable reserves. This increase is based on studies of analog pools, supported by the fact that Battrum Unit #2, which has been more densely drilled than either of Unit #1 or Unit #3, has recovered more than 36 percent to date.
